How it works
Three clocks, one short window
The Plan of Correction is due within 10 calendar days of receiving the CMS-2567. A request for informal dispute resolution must be made within that same 10-day window. When CMS imposes a civil money penalty, the facility may request independent informal dispute resolution within 10 calendar days of receiving that notice, and the independent review is completed within 60 days.
Good to know
Requesting a dispute does not pause your Plan of Correction or enforcement. If a due date falls on a weekend or holiday, do not assume an extension; submit early.

When is a nursing home Plan of Correction due?

Does disputing a citation delay the Plan of Correction?
No. The Plan of Correction is still due on time and enforcement is not delayed.
