Directors of nursing
Lead QAPI with confidence and show surveyors a working program.
QAPI Certified Professional course
SMK Medical teaches the AAPACN QAPI Certified Professional (QCP®) course. Two focused days with a Master Trainer who has run QAPI programs in real buildings, then the certification exam. Open workshops for individuals, and private workshops for your facility or company.

The course
The QAPI Certified Professional credential, from the American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN), shows that you can lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement in a skilled nursing facility, not just sit on the committee.
The course covers the five areas CMS expects every QAPI program to have, and how to make each one work on the floor. You finish ready to sit for the certification exam. A score of 80% or higher earns the credential, which is valid for four years.
Your instructor
Dr. Demetrius Kirk, DNP, MBA, MSN, RN, LNHA, QCP-MT, is an AAPACN QAPI Certified Professional Master Trainer and the founder of SMK Medical and SurveyGuard.
He has worked in post-acute care since 2007, starting as a nursing assistant and moving through bedside nursing, nursing home administration, and executive leadership. His doctoral project reduced falls by 86.6% using the Morse Fall Scale, a real Performance Improvement Project of the kind this course teaches you to run.
Classes use real survey findings, real data, and real committee problems, so your team leaves with a plan for your own building, not just a passing score.
